On Monday, June 29, 2020, the Hellenic Open University successfully completed an online group discussion (Focus Group – research) on digital platforms for freelance work platforms (freelancing platforms) and mass open online courses (Mooc platforms), as part of the project ” TeleICCE – Promotion of teleworking and mass e-learning (MOOC) to increase the competitiveness of business clusters and employment “of the Interreg V / A Greece-Italy 2014-2020 Intergovernmental Cooperation Program.
The research involved freelancers and self-employed people from the Region of Western Greece and discussed the possibilities that the use of innovative cooperation models offers in their professional development. The discussion was constructive as they analyzed the typical needs that professionals may have, assessed their digital readiness, but also highlighted the benefits they may have in improving competitiveness and further development.
Participants also had the opportunity to look for opportunities and opportunities offered by the use of freelancing and distance learning platforms (e-learning platforms such as MOOCs). The development of digital platforms contributes significantly to the acquisition of specialized knowledge and skills, as they allow the availability of educational material that significantly improves skills and knowledge about the subject in which they are trained.
The discussion took place through the use of the electronic platform WebEx.
In the next stage, they will follow, to freelancers / self-employed:
• Training seminars on the use of tele-work and tele-education platforms
• Mentoring counseling sessions for the adoption of a renewed career plan
• Creation of a Career Path for each participant.
